Talking Data South West

Talking Data South West, the region’s first conference focusing on all aspects of data, is taking place on the 20th June at the University of Exeter. From collection and analysis through to visualisation and communication, the conference aims to bring together and showcase the different data activities in the South West. Whether you are a database manager, statistician, GIS or visualisation expert, the event will provide a unique opportunity to develop your data skills and to network with other regional businesses. Select is really pleased to be a sponsor of the conference together with ExIStA, Bridging the Gaps and the University of Exeter. We’ve organised a great line-up of keynote speakers who between them cover a broad range of industries and skills:

  • Alan Smith, Head of Data Visualisation Unit, Office for National Statistics
  • Markus Gesmann, Lloyds of London and developer of googleVIS.
  • David Arnold, Senior Statistician, Unilever
  • Michael Taylor, Lead Analyst, Sky IQ.

Of course, there will also be the opportunity for other delegates to present their own work either through a talk or a poster. If you would like to find out more about the conference, including information on how to register, please see the ExIStA webpage.
