Select Supports new EPSRC Research Grant
The new network on computational statistics and machine learning (NCSML) will be based at Warwick University and will bring together world-leading expertise. NCSML spans a number of leading academic departments within the UK with substantial industrial and commercial engagement from many of the UK’s leading statistical research organisations.
“This new network aims to establish the UK as the world-leading authority in the joint area of Computational Statistics and Machine Learning”, explains Select CEO Steve Brooks. “By taking a leading role ourselves, we hope to steer the network so that it focusses on developing new statistical methodology that can be used directly by organisations to streamline and improve their businesses – whether that’s through better understanding their customers, their products or their own internal processes”.
Select are also project partners on another EPSRC grant entitled “A Multicriterion Approach for Cluster Validation” based at University College London and together with long-term clients eCommera.
