Select has scooped £10,000-worth of prizes from leading Devon businesses despite strong competition from the likes of Sungift Solar and Mango Personnel at the culmination of Devon’s Business Invest 2012 Campaign.
Announced as the winner of Business Invest 2012, Select Statistics’ Chief Executive Steve Brooks is thrilled with the news that the company has won: “This couldn’t have come at a better time for us. We want to use the prize to invest in the services that will help us demonstrate how valuable statistics can be ‒ having a good statistician on board is as essential as having a good accountant or solicitor”.
He also adds: “From studying the spread of disease, to predicting oil prices. From tackling poverty, to improving customer service, every aspect of our lives is being increasingly informed by the statistical analysis of data. Select Statistics is uniquely placed to provide a range of statistical services to help organisations make full use of the data they have available.” Business-Invest-2012
The contest attracted entries from a wide range of organisations across Devon, from start-ups to established companies in all fields and industries. Campaign organiser Sam Hembury explains: “The standard of entries was incredibly high, but the judges were looking for a company that clearly demonstrated that they were the most able to take advantage of the opportunity to grow sales and profitability on receipt of the prize of £10,000-worth of business services. Select Statistics impressed the Panel with their potential for future growth and their unique combination of technical expertise and professional and accessible service”.
The Judges commented: “Select Statistics is a company investing in growth, striving to build sales and brand. They clearly have access to the highest quality statisticians and benefit from the fact that whilst organisations are often data rich they rarely make good use of the data they possess.”
