RSS 2015 is Coming to Exeter

Royal Statistical SocietyThe Royal Statistical Society (RSS) has announced that next year’s International Conference will take place right here in the South West at the University of Exeter. “We’re really excited that the conference will be taking place in Exeter and look forward to taking a very active role in what’s certain to be a great event.”, says Select’s CEO Steve Brooks.

The event will be held at The Forum, the stunning new £48 million centrepiece at the heart of the Streatham Campus. Paul Gentry, RSS Meetings and Conferences manager, told us that the RSS were “highly impressed with the quality of the facilities available in The Forum, and the city has the added attraction of being home to an active statistical community with whom we will be engaging in planning the programme for the conference.”

There are sure to be plenty of engaging talks, posters, short courses and workshops, as well as lots of opportunities for networking and social events. The conference is always a great occasion for not only statisticians, but users of statistics from all backgrounds and sectors to get together and share knowledge and ideas. The Exeter Initiative for Statistics and its Applications (ExIStA), the region’s centre for statistical expertise which is funded by Select, is certainly looking forward to getting involved and helping to share skills and experience from the wealth of statistical expertise available within the region.
