Revised RSS Code of Conduct Launched

Royal Statistical SocietyThe Royal Statistical Society (RSS) has launched a revised version of their Code of Conduct.

As Fellows and professional members of the RSS, we abide by their Code of Conduct which is designed to ensure that professional statisticians provide the highest level of statistical service and advice. Professional membership of the Society is an assurance of ability and integrity.

The original Code was put in place in 1993 and has been updated to make it more relevant to current developments in the professional work of statisticians, and to make it more accessible to both Fellows of the Society and those who use their work. It reflects the main duties and responsibilities that we aim to fulfil in our professional careers and covers the following key areas:

  • Act in the public interest
  • Fulfil obligations to employers and clients
  • Fulfil obligations to the profession and Society
  • At all times show Professional Competence and Integrity

You can see an abbreviated version of the revised Code here (link opens as a pdf), or access the full version of the Code on the RSS website.
