ExIStA Gains 2013 Funding
Select are extremely pleased to have received an additional 6 months’ worth of funding for the Exeter Initiative for Statistics and its Applications (ExIStA) from the EPSRC’s Bridging the Gaps scheme. Steve Brooks, Director of ExIStA explained that “we’re really excited to receive this additional funding. It will support our activities into the New Year as we continue to work towards creating a self-sustaining network.”
The ExIStA 2013 calendar is shaping up well. In addition to seminars, themed workshops and member presentations, we are in the process of organising a data-themed conference in June. The conference will cover all aspects of data; from storage and management to analysis, communication and visualisation. Speakers will be drawn from local data-rich organisations together with a number of keynote speakers drawn from farther afield. “The conference will be a great opportunity to showcase the diverse range of statistical activity within the South West and for the local statistical community to create and forge new partnerships and links”, says Steve.
